Are You Afraid of Thunder After You Have Sworn to Your Lover?

"Please let me get struck by lightening if I tell you a lie, darling.”

This is one of the most famous scenes in romantic tales. But if we look at real society, there are many men who swear like this in order to make their girlfriends love and trust them more. But do they feel frightened when it rains?

Bros Tou (not his real name) said that men either swear voluntarily by themselves, or they may swear because their partners need them to do so in order to show honesty when getting angry. Bros Tou himself has sworn like this.

However, Bros Tou said that he sometimes gets nervous when it rains because he doesn’t want to be struck dead by a lightening bolt.

“If it rains a little bit, it doesn’t matter, but when it rains like cats and dogs, full of lightening and thunder, I get frightened because I think of my swear words and also the increasing number of deaths from lightening.”

According to the Bros Tou, it is better not to swear to prevent bad things from happening, just in case the superstition is true. Instead, Bros Tou suggested bringing confidence to the relationship by acting trustworthy and believing in your partner.
